TRAFFIC CALMING INITIATIVE
North Yorkshire Council and Scriven Parish Council have agreed to co-fund a traffic speed survey on Market Flat Lane in Old Scriven.  The survey will see sensors placed at two locations on the road as it passes through the village. Councillor Steve Archer, Chair of Scriven Parish Council, said “For a number of years residents and councillors have raised concerns about the speed of some vehicles driving through the village.  This survey will provide the data to help us determine if there is a problem and how best to implement any necessary traffic calming measures”.  The survey is planned to take place over a week commencing 29th November and the results will be available soon afterwards.”

When residents have visitors but do not have parking space on their own land or property - please use the unwritten but sensible rule to avoid parking on the private roads and edges along the green.

NB: Approval for parking on the private roads and edges of the green - should be approved by Scriven Parish Council in the following circumstances:

1.  When you have visitors but do not have parking space on your land or property.
2.  When residents are having work carried out on their homes and they cannot park on land owned by the resident.
3. When tradesmen are working on houses in the village and cannot find a space to park elsewhere.

Please could residents ensure that their dogs are kept under control and not allowed to roam on the village Green and the main road. Please also be considerate when exercising your dog and remember to 'pick up' after them, Thank you.
